Read the EPA’s RE-Powering America success story on the Scituate landfill.

The Town of Scituate became the first town in The Commonwealth to receive 100% of its power from renewable sources with the completion of the 3 MW PV installation built on a capped landfill. This PV system, in conjunction with the Scituate wind turbine constructed in 2012, accounts for the Town’s entire municipal power needs. The ground mount system utilizes Canadian Solar modules, Advanced Energy inverters and Schletter racking. For this project, AES DE received the 2014 “Photovoltaic Project of Distinction” award from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA).
