AES Distributed Energy worked with PG&E to clean up a littered 34-acred property in Bakersfield and turned it into an 8.5 MW DC solar facility. The solar provides clean energy for customers enrolled in PG&E’s Solar Choice program. Solar Choice is a community solar program designed specifically for customers who are unable to install rooftop solar, and allows them to purchase their electricity from local, solar-generated energy. The new solar facility brings more renewable energy to California, which is good for the environment and clean air. The solar energy generated is enough to power more than 6,000 homes.
