Boulder, CO, August 2, 2016 – AES Distributed Energy, Inc. (AES DE), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (AES), and ImMODO Energy Services Corporation (ImMODO) have announced the commissioning of the 2 megawatt (MW) Lemoore 1 solar PV project located in Lemoore, California. AES DE is the long-term owner of the project while ImMODO provided turn-key design, and engineering, procurement and construction services.
The 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with utility Pacific Gas & Electric represents one of the last to be commissioned of the feed-in-tariff projects authorized by California Assembly Bill 1969. This project was a particular success from an economic development standpoint, as it utilized unproductive grazing land that had very few alternative uses.
“The Lemoore 1 project marks the first milestone in AES’ efforts to expand its renewable energy footprint in California,” said Woody Rubin, President of AES Distributed Energy. “We are delighted to partner with ImMODO on this solar project and provide sustainable, reliable energy to California ratepayers for the next 20 years.”
“This project is a classic example of how distributed solar PV will continue to support economic development and clean cheap energy in the state of California,” said Jonathan Rappe, Senior Vice President for ImMODO. “We are pleased to be working together with the dedicated team at AES DE to further these common goals.”
ImMODO will continue to operate and maintain Lemoore 1 for AES DE. The ground mount system utilized Jinko modules, GPTech inverters and NEXTracker racking.
In addition to the Lemoore project we have partnered with ImMODO to construct 4 additional projects; Delano 1.4MW, Bakersfield Industrial 1.5MW, Bakersfield 6.8MW and Manteca 1.2MW. These projects were awarded PPA’s under the PG&E specifically the Green Tariff Shared Renewable program which is designed to help California IOUs meet their target of procuring 600 MW of Community Energy between now and 2019.
